HVG Law advises SolarDuck on building the world´s largest offshore floating solar power plant at Hollandse Kust West (HKW) together with partner RWE

Matter

HVG Law is very proud to advise SolarDuck, a provider of offshore floating solar technology, on its cooperation with RWE, one of the leading offshore renewable energy developers globally.

RWE was awarded the permit to build a large-scale offshore wind farm, Hollandse Kust West VII (HKW), after a tender process. Following the collaboration between the parties, SolarDuck was selected as the exclusive provider for the world’s largest offshore floating solar (OFS) technology with integrated energy storage in RWE´s bid for HKW VII.

SolarDuck will build a 5 MW demonstrator OFS platform with innovative integrated energy storage solutions. The HKW hybrid offshore wind and OFS project catapults SolarDuck towards commercialization and accelerates the scaling up of manufacturing, assembly and installation. The OFS platform is expected to become operational in 2026.
