Expertise

Merel is specialized in Dutch corporate- and business law and in particular in (cross-border) mergers and acquisitions, corporate (re)structuring, private equity transactions. management and employee participations and corporate governance.

Additional information

Merel graduated in notarial law from the University of Leiden in 2007. In 2013 she completed the post academic study for corporate law at the Grotius Academy cum laude.

In addition to her practice, as a lecturer she regularly teaches in on various areas of Dutch corporate- and business law.

Prior to joining HVG Law, Merel also spent 9 years in the Corporate M&A practice of Allen & Overy LLP.

In 2020 Merel was nominated as ‘Notary of the Year’ by the Royal Dutch Association of Civil Law Notaries.
